The Institute of Radiation and Remote Sensing (IRRS) pursues research areas associated with the remote sensing of clouds from satellites, computer simulations of radiative transfer in cloud and aerosol atmospheres, light scattering and spectroscopy involving ice crystal clouds, and applications of radiation and clouds/aerosols research to climate studies.
