CS: Cold started from observed IC
  • The path for output datasets are, e.g., /FARRARA/exxx/exxxf001, or exxxd001 in the MSS at NCAR.
  • The output variables, such as the prognostic, averaged and instantaneous diagnostic variables, are extracted from the datasets by using analysis programs, such as 'flds', c2inmn' and 'ctinmn', respectively.
  • Beginning with e450, diagnostic (physics) fields are separately stored in, e.g., e450d0001, while prognostic (dynamics) fields are stored in, e.g., e450f0001 as before. Note that different versions of the 'flds', 's2inmn' and 'ctinmn' are thus needed to process these new datasets.
